The last message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) says that among all human being he love one whose character is the best
The total number of qualities and measures (good and bad) that one possesses is called his character. Character is a great factor in human life. Personality and discipline are the present qualities of fine character. Man is the one who can influence his/her fellow beings by his virtues. By virtue of his distinctive nature and academic qualities, he holds a unique position in society. Most of the people have no individuality and identity of their own; they are just like herds. But a man of good character is easily recognized by his/her behaviour, conduct and way of talking. It is an admitted fact that all great men were highly charactered and it was all due to their moral character that they achieved name and fame.
The main component of character is moral courage. That means the courage to face hatred, opposition, criticism and hardships for the sake of the defense of the truthfulness and obviously, it requires a lot of courage to follow the right path. To break the evil of social order, customs and conventions need courage. A man must have enough courage before he decides to face the problem. Most of the people use fair and foul means in order to achieve their goals. But honest people never try to deviate from the right path.
Honesty is therefore another quality of good character. A man of good character does not like corruption and illegal practices. He always fights for a cause. He believes in justice and equality. He never tries to be a rich man by employing corrupt means.
Same is the case of an ideal student. He walks on the straight track by leaving all his troubles and laziness. He always used to become regular and punctual. He has only one thing in his view that is his ambition. He travels almost against all the difficulties which come in his way. He knows that he has to achieve his goal and in order to fulfill it, firstly he must has to work hard and only then the luck comes and he gets the success. As a matter of fact, that success is the combination of hard work and luck.
A man of good character is not governed by the sentiments. As a matter of fact, good character is a combination of good qualities such as moral courage, honesty, confidence, determination and wholeheartedness. All the great men possessed these qualities and that is why are remembered even now. We discuss their deeds with a great reverence. We should also try to achieve some of their qualities if not all.
